'07 Triumph Speed Triple
I was looking for something smoother and more fun and I found it in the Speed Triple. This bike has loads of torque and it's just a blast to ride.
FAB Hugger and Radiator Guard
One thing that is missing from the Speed Triple: A hugger. The swingarm has tapped holes for it, and you'd think that Triumph would put some kind of small thing there to protect the shock from grime. Anyway, FAB makes a nice one and I saw a radiator guard from them as well so I picked up both pieces.
Rizoma Fender Eliminator and Lights
Once I figured out which bolts to remove to get the original fender off it was easy to mount the Rizoma fender eliminator. It's made of high quality anodized aluminum and has a nifty LED license plate light. The only problem I had was that the original tail lights didn't fit on it. Fortunately I had some LED indicators from Rizoma sitting around. I curled up the cables for the indicators under the fender eliminator and zip-tied them so that they weren't dangling. The cables contain many wires, not just two, so they really can't be shortened.
Delivery Day
So far, so good. :) I'm following the manufacturers break in and keeping it under 3500 rpm for the first 100 miles is a bit of a chore. Even so, I can already tell that this bike has lots of character, very smooth and refined even in its brand new state.
I got the bike with:
- GSG frame sliders
- Arrow 3 into 1 exhaust & tune
- Triumph Seat Cowl
- Triumph Carbon Tank Pad
- Triumph Passenger Grab Rail
'06 Yamaha FZ1
Nice looking, lighter, more 'nimble' than the first gen bike. But it just wasn't "fun". It didn't help that I seemed to have the worst luck with this bike. In the first 60 miles or so I dented the rim.
'01 Yamaha FZ1
Fun, fast, comfy.
'01 Yamaha YZF600R
The first bike I have owned outright. This is a really great bike for the price. Very reliable, fun to ride.
